Bermuda Triangle; A Mystery That Experts Are Trying To Understand And Here’s What We Know
Has there ever been a time no one’s discussed the mysteries behind the Bermuda Triangle? Also known as the Devil’s Triangle or Hurricane Alley, the Bermuda Triangle is shrouded by some mysteries that till today, remain unsolved. Although most experts refuse to believe the mysteries surrounding the Bermuda Triangle, no one can explain how some ships and planes disappear when they cross or fly over it. Unexplained circumstances surround some of the mishaps that happen at the Bermuda Triangle, which includes the disappearance of Flight 19 that was carrying a group of U.S. Navy bombers.
It has been reported that as soon as Flight 19 flew over the Bermuda Triangle, all the 14 men aboard became disoriented and the plane mysteriously disappeared on the 5th of December 1945 without sending distress messages. Soon after, a Martin PBM Mariner flying boat, carrying 13 crew members, was sent from the Naval Air Station Banana River to find out what happened to Flight 19, but that too exploded mid-air as it flew over the Triangle. Then again there are people who sail around the area every day and return home without mysteriously disappearing into thin air.
Popular culture believes that the mysterious disappearances are linked to paranormal activity. Some people believe that the Triangle is controlled by aliens from outer space and others think it is where the lost city of Atlantis is submerged. Whether you believe this or not, we can all agree that the Triangle is a beguiling place. It was in 1964 that the points of the Triangle found their homes in Miami, Puerto Rico and Bermuda. But how big is the triangle? Experts believe its anywhere between 500,000 and 1,510,000 square miles!
Others believe that the triangle stretches as far as the Irish coast. Due to its massive size and the fact that the Gulf Stream flows through it, the Bermuda Triangle experiences dramatic weather changes all year round. According to some experts, the Bermuda Triangle is home to methane eruptions, which may be the cause of the many mysterious accidents. An experiment conducted in a laboratory in Australia proved that methane bubbles can reduce water density causing ships to sink rapidly, leaving them no time to send distress signals, and any wreckage that floats in the water gets quickly submerged by the Gulf Stream. As far as the planes are concerned, experts think that methane gas can cause them to explode mid-air.
On 15th of May 2017, a plane carrying Jennifer Blumin and her two young sons disappeared over the Bermuda Triangle at approximately 2:10 pm. Then on May 16th, the Coast Guard declared that they had located the debris 15 miles east of Eleuthera, an island in the Bahamas. While no one’s sure what led to the craft’s accident, many believe that the cause could be the high volume of traffic the area experiences due to it being a busy shipping lane. In fact, Bermuda Triangle has been the talk of the town since 1492 when Christopher Columbus sailed to the New World through the mysterious area.
He claimed that he saw a flame of fire, probably a meteor, crashing into the waters of the Bermuda Triangle. Then a few weeks later, he saw a strange light appearing over the ocean that he could not identify. In his journal, he also wrote about erratic compass readings, which scientists today believe could be because the Bermuda Triangle was one of the few places on Earth where true north and magnetic north aligned.
