Man Obsessed With Superman Undergoes A Host Of Expensive Surgeries To Look Exactly Like Him

Thanks to the numerous superhero movies on Earth today, every child dreams of growing up to be one. Whether it’s Iron Man, Batman, The Hulk or many others, children usually are obsessed with the merch associated with their favorite superhero. We can’t deny that there are some adults too who prefer wearing clothes depicting their favorite superheroes. Some go as far as getting the exact same haircut as their favorite superhero, but not many go under the knife.

Meet 29-year-old Filipino man called Herbert Chavez who claims to be the bigger Superman fan on the planet. His dangerous obsession with Superman, and the need to look exactly like him, has made this young man go through several expensive surgeries, despite the deadly health complications he may face in the future.

Chavez, who’s a professional dress designer, has also designed clothes for the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia. The money he earns from his talent is what he uses to fuel his dangerous and expensive obsession to look like Superman. Therefore, in 2011, the first surgery on his agenda was a painful nose job which then led way to many more nose jobs, lip injections, skin bleaching, butt implants and numerous other surgical procedures on his chest and hips.

Then when it came time to have six-pack abs to complement his Superman look, Chavez decided to, yet again, put his health in danger. Instead of joining a gym and gaining those abs through exercise, he opted to get toxic chemicals injected in his body that made him quite sick. It was only after recovering from the toxicity that Chavez decided to hold off further surgeries and began collecting all kinds of Superman memorabilia he could get his hands on.

So far Chavez claims he has about 5,000 different items in his Superman collection, landing him a coveted spot in the Guinness Book of World Records 2013. Chavez dreams of transforming and showing children what it’s really like to be a superhero, but we’re glad the surgeries are on the back burner for now.

In the foreseeable future, Chavez hopes to permanently change his eye color as well as lengthen his legs to gain more height. While this sounds like a very painful procedure, we sure do hope that Chavez will realize that nothing’s worth by putting one’s life in danger.
